About Zotfilm is a subdivision of FADA (Film-Arts-Drama-Alliance) located on the UC Irvine campus. Zotfilm is a student run organization that focuses on bringing together student filmmakers from the UC Irvine campus in an effort to give students the skills and expertise needed once they join the film industry.
Description Zotfilm occurs during only Fall and Winter quarter of every school year. During these ten week long periods, students are separated into equal teams and work on an independent film project with one another. Weeks 1-3 is typically when students craft their story, write their script, and cast actors. Weeks 4-7 is when students are encouraged to do their filming for their films. Weeks 8-9 is when students are encouraged to edit and put the finishing touches of their films. Week 10 is when all of the films are shown at a massive screening where groups get to answer questions from audience and talk about what went right and what went wrong during production. To join Zotfilm, students must pay a $25 membership fee as stated in the constitution that can be found here.
